In this first video, I had the opportunity to lay out some of the context, as to why the world is the way it is.

We didn’t have time to explore the 20th century to any depth in the interview but perhaps the opportunity will arise to do so. Misperceptions relating to two world wars and the bloody revolutions in Russia and China shape institutional thinking.
I explained the structure of the global political economy and its three flaws: institutional hierarchy, colonisation of the commons and money and pointed to the 2016 Birkbeck presentation (listed above) which provides more depth, breadth and evidence. I also briefly covered the money system as a wealth transfer mechanism which sucks money upwards from those who don’t have enough to those who have more than they can use.
The adverse consequences of the global money system are many and various. Suffice to say that institutional hierarchy, powered by money, colonises our thinking, leading to perverse decisions and their destructive consequences.
Often, when suggesting that institutional hierarchy is dysfunctional and obsolete, the response is wouldn’t there be chaos, death and destruction if we didn’t have government? We have those today, as a direct result of the three flaws in the global political economy. Institutional hierarchy, i.e. government and all the levers of power drive chaos, death and destruction.
In these next two videos Larken Rose and James Corbett offer their personal take on how governments participate in tyranny, plunder and destruction. They provide some indication of how we can live without government.
While both do a good job explaining the perversity of letting governments rule our lives, they have yet to realise the pivotal role of money in driving behaviour. Money drives not just the way authority behaves but all of those who rely on it to live and work.
My discussion with Sakeena in the first video in this article refers to some of our work in this area. The last reference I provided leads to more information, for the curious.
If, when watching the first video, you think of questions relating to a particular topic or event, I would encourage you to use the categorised tag cloud below latest posts (top right of this page) to find other articles and references.
Rather than be limited by the controlled thinking of institutional hierarchy, work with others who share your curiosity to discover how the world really works and why so many fear based narratives are false.
