Punch & Judy versus Reality

My friend Mohsin has recently launched a new series of hour long videos, one of which is in my last article. I’ve watched all five of those, so far released. These Deep Dive Perspectives provide valuable perspectives on the journey of discovery. The latest explores neoliberalism a.k.a. The Shock Doctrine.

After watching the video, I wrote to Moshin about the paradigm shift; how and why it is happening.

Hi Mohsin, another excellent dive into what at one level explains the dynamic/two step dance between capitalism and socialism.

It is well proven that both are controlled by the same forces/structure. It is the political and geopolitical Punch and Judy show to keep the human capital ignorant of how both harvest their energy and resources with negative outcomes.

Capitalism creates huge inequality but a significant proportion of the population benefit from material advantage although leaving a much larger tail of relative poverty. Whereas, socialism reduces the autonomy of the individual to sacrifice their interests in favour of the collective.

Both encourage self-exploitation, one through greed and the other through altrusism, i.e. the innate empathy of the large proportion of the species, which inspite of all the incentives to suppress it, continues to thrive probably to a greater extent today than anytime in recent human history, say since the recovery from deprivation caused by WW2.

From the 1950s in The USA, the 60s in the UK and across Europe, the human cattle were seduced into consumersism and debt (personal, corporate and private) which is the mechanism that organsises the world to harvest, cull and control the human cattle.

In short summary, the “solutions” proposed by your two guests are confined to the Punch and Judy world, while all around us new possibilities are emerging, galvanising social and structural change.

New thinking is essential. Old hierarchical institutions are toxic, even collective unionised power. Power corrupts! That’s all we need to know and we should be working enthusiastially according to the principles and process of DACSO (distributed autonomous codependent self-organisation).

Paradigm shift is underway and the old institutional power structures of the so called “elites” are crumbling into irrelevance although superficially they appear to be omnipotent. Think of Kodak that failed to recognise the significance of digital photography.

The “useful idiots” in positions of power are ignorant or dismissive of reality.

Capitalism and socialism have no relevance in the emerging paradigm.
